The winning artists & artworks from our 2026 Annual Exhibition

The following Prizes and Awards were awarded at a ceremony on Wednesday 10 June at our 2026 Annual Exhibition. Congratulations to all the winners!

The NEAC Climate Emergency Prize

£2,000 for an artwork that addresses the climate crisis

Rubbish Drawing by Rosie Good

 

The Doreen McIntosh Prize

For an artist whose work fulfils the New English Art Club’s ideals of rigour, immediate engagement with the visual and a searching attitude. Value £2,000.

 

Beach Composition by Craig Jefferson

 

The Hermione Hammond Drawing Award

£2,000 for a drawing by an emerging artist aged 35 or under

 

Grazing over the Tibetan Mastif by Jean Lim

 

The Arts Society (Greater London Area) Award

£1,000 to an emerging non-member artist

 

AND THE Mall Galleries / FBA Award

Ten free submissions to exhibitions by the Federation of British Artists at Mall Galleries (worth over £200) for a first-time exhibitor with the NEAC

Short & Tall, Up and Down by William Packer

 

The Dry Red Press Award

The winning work will be published as a greetings card in the Dry Red Press 'Prize Winners' range, with royalties from the sale of the cards going to the artist.

The Val Harris Prize

One week residency in The Atelier in Hay-on-Wye followed by a one-week exhibition at The Table, the art gallery owned by Val Harris, for a member of the NEAC

NEAC Scholars (2026-27).

And finally, we are delighted to announce the three recipients of this year's NEAC Scholarships: 

 

The Ken Howard Foundation Scholarship (£5,000) goes to Vanessa Wilkey

and

 

THE TWO Daler-Rowney ScholarshipS

(£500 cash and a £500 voucher to be spent on Daler-Rowney art materials) go to:

 Oliver Marr and Sarah Muwanga

 

Congratulations to all three new NEAC Scholars who, over the coming year, will benefit from mentorship from NEAC members and free entry to all classes and workshops run by the NEAC Education Programme. Work created during their Scholarship years will be showcased in the NEAC Annual Exhibition at Mall Galleries in 2027.
