Art Auction for the new NEAC Scholarship (Closed)


To raise funds for the new NEAC £5,000 Artist Scholarship, we are running an online silent auction with three wonderful original artworks by NEAC members looking for a new home.

The works have been generously donated by the artist or their estate which means 100% of the auction proceeds will go towards the Scholarship, which you can find out more about here.

All works are framed and ready to dispatch before Christmas (with free UK P&P).

LOT 1: Susan Ryder NEAC RP ‘Desk Flowers’

Oil on canvas, 41 x 30.5cm. Reserve £1,200 (RRP £2,100)

Susan’s sumptuous interiors understandably prove irresistible to buyers at her sell-out exhibitions with Panter & Hall. She did not hesitate when asked to donate this beautiful oil.

LOT 2: Daniel Shadbolt NEAC ‘Still Life with Peonies’

Daniel’s subtle paintings have that irresistible ‘come hither’ quality which allows them to quietly, yet powerfully, sing out in the sea of paintings in an open exhibition. He has generously donated this wonderful study of peonies.

LOT 3: Ann Le Bas NEAC RE (1923-2020) ‘A Carpenter’s Bench’

Leaving the proceeds from the disposal of her work to the NEAC, we came across this beautiful drawing in Ann’s studio. Thinking its best home would be with an NEAC member or supporter, we removed it from open sale, and here it is. It seems very appropriate that the proceeds of this should go to our new Scholarship.

How To Bid

Email your bid to including the following information:

  • The lot number and name of the artwork you are bidding on
  • Your bid in £GPBs (please note the reserve prices)
  • Your name, email address and phone number (so that we can contact you to arrange payment and delivery if you are the highest bidder)

Closing Date

Sunday 5 December 2021, 11:59pm (any bids received after this time will be disregarded)

Payment and Delivery

We will contact the highest bidder w/c 6 December to arrange payment (which must be made within 7 day) and delivery.

Remember that it’s for an excellent cause, so please bid generously!


Terms and Conditions: The three lots are as described above. Bids (in £GPBs) must be emailed to stating the lot number, name of artwork and your name, email address and phone number so that we can contact you to arrange payment and delivery if you are the highest bidder. Anyone with access to the email account is ineligible to bid. Bids under the reserve price will not be counted. The closing date is Sunday 5 December 2021, 11:59pm (any bids received after this time will be disregarded). The highest bidders will be notified w/c 6 December and will be given 7 days to make payment (and supply delivery address). In the even that the highest bidder does not pay within this time frame, the NEAC will offer the work to the second-highest bidder. All bids remain private, including after the auction has ended. We will not notify unsuccessful bidders so if you haven’t heard from us by 10 December, it means you were unsuccessful in your bid. P&P is free in the UK. Overseas postage and insurance will be charged at cost in addition to the bid price. All sales are final.
