Solo exhibition in London - Jenny Wheatley RWS NEAC

Jenny Wheatley is a leading member of both the New English Art Club and the Royal Water-Colour Society.

Her work is often characterised by a variety of strong coloured pattern worked over the entire surface with sophisticated and playful effect.

Public Collections which include her work are H.M. The Queen Mother, British Gas, I.C.I., St. Thomas’s Hospital, London, Arthur Anderson Co, Pace Petroleum, Hilton Hotels, John Lewis, British American Tobacco and Institute of Education.

“When I met Jenny Wheatley first in 1984 she had just been elected to the Royal Watercolour Society and was fresh out of the West Surrey College of Art. Nearly thirty Years later her work today remains as powerful, fresh and vibrant as it was then. The real warmth and generosity of her personality has made her art approachable, but it is not without interesting complexities. Her special vision, industry and professionalism has made of her an indispensable figure in the world of oil and watercolour painting in our time, and an artist whose eventual stature will surely rank with Francis Hodgkin, Ann Redpath, Mary Fedden and Winifred Nicholson”. Words by Maurice Sheppard PPRWS NEAC
