Brompton Cemetery plein air 1-day workshop with Jason Line NEAC

The Brompton cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Britain consisting of a large number of headstones, mausolea and other architectural monuments situated in the various cultivated and wooded areas of the cemetery offering an inspirational place for students to draw and paint.

This workshop is designed for those who want to learn more about the basic elements of drawing ie proportion, perspective, measurement and tone as well as more experience students who might be interested in capturing the mood and atmosphere that the cemetery may evoke.

About your tutor: Jason Line NEAC works directly from observation and from a variety of subject matter, although the still life and the interior has increasingly become his main area of interest. He has exhibited widely in England with a number of commercial galleries as well as in a number of national exhibitions including the BP Portrait Award,National Portrait Gallery, The Royal Society of Portrait Painters,The Discerning Eye and the Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize. He recently had a solo exhibition at MARCH in San Francisco, USA. Awards include The Bowyer Drawing Prize and this year was elected member of the New English Art Club. He works and lives in London.

Price

£60.00 (+ booking fee) for the day.

There is a 10% discount for Friends of the New English and students with an appropriate student number booking online. If you are a student you will be asked to provide your Student ID at the workshop. If you are eligible for a discount please email classes@neac.co.uk stating which discount you are eligible for and you will be emailed a special code to use when booking your tickets.

Materials

Pencils of different grades, graphite sticks, charcoal, ink, rubbers (plastic and kneadable), cotton rag, paper, rulers/straight edge, drawing board, sketchbooks, a folding chair or stool, easel (optional) as well as painting materials if you wish to paint.
