The New English Art Club invites you to a day of celebrations to mark our 140th birthday. Join us for conversation, demonstrations, a lecture on Sickert, and an exciting fundraising art auction.
Thursday 22 October at Mall Galleries (11am–9pm)
Don’t miss this chance to socialise with NEAC artists and fellow art lovers, enjoy hospitality throughout the day, and raise a glass to 140 years of the New English Art Club. The day will culminate in an art auction raising funds towards the NEAC’s charitable aims of supporting and educating artists. Buying a ticket also helps us meet our fundraising goals, and we encourage you to consider becoming a Friend of the NEAC – not least because this entitles you to 10% off the ticket price for our birthday celebrations.

1:00pm – Lecture: Michael Ajerman on Walter Sickert
2:15pm – 30‑minute break for lunch (the Mall Galleries café will be open)
2:45pm – Richard Pikesley masterclass demonstration
4:45pm – NEAC’s 140th birthday tea party and cake‑cutting ceremony
5:30pm – 30‑minute break (we’ll ask you to step out while the room is set for the auction)
6:00pm – Exclusive private preview of the fundraising auction artworks, with a complimentary drink on entry and live accoustic music by Bow & Bellows
6:45pm – General admission to the auction opens (paid bar)
7:20pm – President’s speech
7:30pm – Auction begins
9:00pm – Close

The best way to experience the day is with a day pass. This gives access to all events – including those available only to day‑pass holders – and is better value than booking individual sessions.
If you can only attend one or two events, will soon be offering a limited number of event‑specific tickets for the artist demonstrations and lecture. Keep an eye on our events page for details. We are not currently offering standalone tickets to the auction; you’ll need a day pass to guarantee your space. If capacity allows, we may release additional auction spaces nearer the time.
