Artist Statement

Lorna Vahey’s work is narrative and mostly autobiographical. The paintings, usually oil on panel, start as memories and she uses these images of people, landscape, buildings, tools and 'stuff' - some actual, some remembered and some invented to tell a story.

Born at Innisfree, a self sufficiency holding in Sussex, which she still has
BA, Fine Art, Brighton
Worked as a conservator, gilder, lacquer-worker, teacher and painter
Still living and working in the same area
