Touched by Light: Susan Ryder solo exhibition in London: Panter & Hall Gallery, London

Panter & Hall
21-22 Pall Mall, London SW1Y 5LP

9th – 25th October 2024

Panter & Hall is hosting NEAC member Susan Ryder’s first solo exhibition in four years from the 9th to the 25th October at their gallery in Pall Mall, London:

"Susan’s paintings are a welcome salve to the soul in these troubled times. An artist of great talent and integrity, her works remind us that beneath all the chaos there is an aesthetic continuity in British art that defies fad and fakery. Her paintings lift the spirits, morning rooms dappled by sunlight and lamplit armchairs by the fire conjure a world of serene tranquillity, far from the madding crowd.

Over the last four years we have selected the very best of her new paintings, squirrelling them away wet from the easel to arrive at the current beautiful collection. In our opinion one of her strongest shows to date, it demonstrates the innate sense of colour and deftness of brushstroke for which she is justly celebrated.

There are so many facets to Susan’s work but light plays a dominant role. Whether natural or electric, the luminosity brings warmth and atmosphere to the paintings, enlivening surfaces with a loaded brush where the light touches."
