'Perspectives' 1-day workshop with Paul Newland NEAC RWS

In this informal workshop we will be looking into the distance and up close, simultaneously, and choosing unusual viewpoints where possible.

So students will be understanding, and creating, deep spatial effects and contrasts in their work.

Students will be encouraged to get down to painting, possibly after a few thumbnail try-outs.

Depending on weather, students may be able to work outside. But if it's inclement we can easily use the studio or the spaces around the building.

There will be a plenary at the end of both the morning and afternoon sessions.

About your tutor: Paul Newland NEAC RWS makes paintings which essentially combine memory with imagination and observation. His works often evolve over a long period of time in an on off sort of way. More recently he has begun to paint outside in oil paint where chance and accident have become part of his working process. Paul is also a member of the Royal Watercolour Society and has exhibited widely, he has won many awards including The Discerning Eye Purchase Prize in 2014.
