'Painting Summer Light' 1-day workshop with Julie Jackson NEAC

This workshop is an introduction to moving outside and making drawings and paintings in the open air. You will spend the day in St James Park painting one picture in the morning light and one in the afternoon light. Intense visual and emotional responses can be triggered by a view, a glimpse of sun through the trees, or reflected light on water. You will begin by looking at the main tones of the scene, simplifying the shapes, then building the painted image. Completing work on the spot will give you invaluable experience.

You will meet at the Mall Galleries Learning Centre at 10:30am, making one painting in the morning session - 10.30 - 1.00pm, and one in the afternoon 2.00 - 4.30pm. [Lunch - 1.00 - 2.00].

There will be a plenary session at the end of the day
