'Movement into Structure' 1-day workshop with Jason Bowyer

This intense one-day course will involve drawing from the figure using the interior space of the studio to understand the dynamics of human form. You will use a combination of wet and dry media including charcoal and ink, and will also explore the links between figurative drawing and abstract painting. Teaching will be by demonstration, personal tuition and group discussion.

About your tutor: Jason Bowyer PPNEAC PS RP is former president of the NEAC and was the founder of its Drawing School. His residencies have included - Fulham Football club, Championship artist at the All England Lawn Tennis Club Wimbledon. He was also official War Artist to the REME Regiment at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan.

Price

£55 for the day (+ booking fee).

There is a 10% discount for Friends of the New English and students with an appropriate student number booking online. If you are a student you will be asked to provide your Student ID at the workshop. If you are eligible for a discount please email classes@neac.co.uk stating which discount you are eligible for and you will be emailed a special code to use when booking your tickets.

Please bring:

  • A2 sketchbook
  • Charcoal [willow and compressed]
  • Ink
  • pastels/chalks

If you wish to paint please bring along your chosen media.

There is a materials shop on site if required.

There are tea and coffee making facilities on site and cafes nearby - but you might want to bring a packed lunch.
