Meet the artist Neil Pittaway NEAC RE RWS at Mall Galleries where he will be demonstrating how he creates his own ideas and drawings for etching including how he transcribes these onto copper etching plate(s).
This is a continuous demonstration event starting at 1pm and finishing at 3.30pm. Neil will be on hand demonstrating and explaining the drawn etching process as well as being able to answer any questions you may have about this and his work.
Neil's love of printmaking and in particular etching has been an integral part of his work for decades where he has achieved national recognition for his etchings winning many awards for them including the British Institution Prizes for Printmaking and then Drawing, the Ashmolean Museum Vivien Leigh Bequest Award, and Gwen May RE Print Award (National Print Exhibition).
"I particularly like the beauty of the intaglio etching process and the many amazing yet ethereal qualities particularly in line that this process gives, it is truly a very magical and special process. I hope you can join me so that I can share with you how I see and enjoy this process in my work."
There will be the opportunity to see a range of Neil's original etchings and other works including etching plates and drawings, sketches and sketchbooks.
This event is free with exhibition entry and suitable for all and is family friendly.
