The New English Art Club are very excited to
launch the New English
Trading Company. This is the online shop site
for The New English members to sell their original
art and other art related items directly to the
public.
We are hoping this will be a great succes for
all the New English members.

At this year’s annual general meeting following the close of another very successful open exhibition, the membership elected five new members:

| This year has seen another extremely successful Open Exhibition with 73 works sold totaling £130,000. The standard again surpassed previous years making the judges task in chosing the prize winners harder than ever. Peyton Skipworth of the Fine Art Society gave the David Wolfers Memorial Lecture: ‘Keeping the Home Fires Burning’ 1910 - 1945. The talk was extremely insightful and immensely interesting. The club would like to thank Peyton for an outstanding lecture. |

This year the club lost four of its members:
They were all valuable members and much loved
and we shall miss them a great deal.

Ambrose McEvoy (1878-1927)
McEvoy became a member of the New English Art Club, 1900. He had trained at the Slade alongside Augustus John and William Orpen. His reputation was established with paintings of landscapes and interiors and later enjoyed success as a portrait painter, most of his portraits being of women. |
